0.2.1 - small detour, big gun
the best part of this update is the Hypervelocity Integrated Magnetic Acceleration Routing Core (it's a big railgun).
screenshake:
the screen! it shakes now! not that hard to understand!
new UI elements:
the HUD now shows you some information about your weapons, an important addition when managing the HIMARC's long recharge time it's also used to signal what weapons the player has unlocked
leveling system:
enemies have a chance to drop little wrenches, which give you xp. when you get enough xp, you level up! You need to be level 2 to use the railgun. any levels beyond two don't do much, when you level up your hull is fully repaired though (this is likely to change)
adjusted enemy spawning:
the onslaught of alien enemies has been relaxed significantly, the game no longer punishes you by shoving more enemies onto your screen when you kill them faster than expected. Also, the "director" earns their allowance slower. This drastically slows down the pace of enemy escalation
it is much easier to get high scores in this build, thanks to the new weapon, the relaxed spawning, the ability to repair your ship, and the lack of enemy variety. Enjoy it while it lasts, because the lack of enemy variety will be changing very soon. >:)
other changes:
the game will no longer void your first run's score
colliding with enemies now damages both you and the enemy
changed the wording in the coilgun status message
when spawning enemies, the spawner has a chance to void some of it's allowance, which basically makes waves a little easier to deal with sometimes.
bombers are constrained to a narrower vertical area, preventing them from hiding just out of reach of your weapons

the leveling system took absurdly long to get working, so it consumed the lion's share of my energy for this build. next build will (hopefully) be more gameplay oriented. Have fun, report bugs, give feedback, help me improve my game pleeeeeease.
